How do I submit artwork and files?

Preparing files for printing is an “art” and we have many hours in the education of our craft. We provide creative graphic design, custom logos, and branding concepts as well as the finished product. We can create the necessary files for you, that’s what we do!

It is best to read file requirements BEFORE you start preparing your files!!

File Requirements:  If you provide graphic files as print ready, be sure they are correct and follow our guidelines below. If alterations to files are needed, you will be charged accordingly. Thoroughly check resolution, margins, centering, bleeds, folds, colors, spelling, etc. BEFORE sending.   If we don’t prepare the files, we won’t know if wrong until AFTER the job is printed. And if wrong, we charge to reprint. Contact us if you have any questions.

Acceptable file formats; . ai, .eps, .jpeg, .tif, .psd, .png (Be sure to flatten your files, embed images, and create outlines or rasterize all fonts before sending)

Unacceptable file formats; Corel Draw, Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher, Pagemaker and low scanned images.  Quark and Indesign, unless exported to an .eps or .pdf format, will incur additional charges.

We require files setup actual size at 300 dpi minimum.

ONE AND TWO COLOR PRINTING:  Files must be provided based on your specific printing requirements;  Black ink only, Pantone® spot color(s).

FULL COLOR PRINTING: We print CMYK (4 color process). Convert all Pantone® spot colors to CMYK before saving. For sharper, finer Black text, use 100% Black only (NOT a CMYK build or Process Black). IMPORTANT: All imported pictures/graphics MUST be in CMYK format BEFORE placed into document. RGB images are NOT allowed, and do not process correctly.

BLEEDS: For jobs that bleed (ink running to edge of sheet), we run on oversize sheets. We need a minimum of 1/8″ bleed for backtrimming. This eliminates any white edges to the finished job. For example; if you are designing an 8-1/2″ x 11″, your document size will be 8-3/4″ x 11-1/4″ including the bleed, a 3-1/2″ x 2″ business card will be a 3-3/4″ x 2-1/4″ file. *Also keep important text and images a minimum of 1/8″ from the cut edge of the document as well.

INCLUDE PRINTERS MARKS: All files MUST include all cutting marks and folding ticks so we know where to cut and fold your job. You may also request a custom template.

PDF SETTINGS: Embed all fonts, no compressions, include bleeds, and output with registration centered at 6pt. Save in High Quality Print.

INDESIGN NOTES: When you want to soften/tin t a color, avoid layering white over the color to achieve this, instead simply “tint screen the color” itself (white transparent layers don’t PDF correctly and can be “lost” when rendering).

KEEP IN MIND that if you provide “print files”, in most cases we cannot manipulate or correct these files. And since we did not create these files, we generally will not know the quality of your job until the job is printed. Providing a hardcopy (folded) sample of your file for reference is always appreciated, then we know exactly what YOU expect for the finished product. Always be sure to save your virgin files in case you need to correct issues and resend.

Preparing files for print is an ongoing learning process, (thanks to updates and upgrades). Check back periodically for more info as we tackle file issues. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call us.

We require files 100% actual printing size at 150 dpi for best quality. Provide only hi-res graphic files. We cannot add to the quality of your files. Outline or rasterize all fonts before sending.

We print in CMYK. We accept RGB files as well.

Dense or Process Black (mix of 40% cyan, 40% magenta, 40% yellow and 100% black) is highly recommended. Using 100% Black only will print as dark grey.

If you require “Pantone® color matching”, send your file in vector base (AI or EPS) and request “color matching”. We will do several test prints to get as close as possible. A $25 color matching fee applies. (NOTE: We cannot change the color of Raster/Photoshop based images)

* Be sure to convert all fonts to outlines in Illustrator or rasterize all fonts in Photoshop before sending.

LARGER SIGNS, POSTERS, VEHICLE MAGNETS, BANNERS, FLAGS   Provide at 100% of actual printing size at 150 dpi for best quality. We will accept 72 dpi min. For large vector files (AI/EPS) you can provide at 1in to 1ft ratio (ex: 6ft x4ft Banner; 6″x4″ file, we enlarge).

BLEED requirements for Signs, Vehicle Magnets, Posters, Mounting and Standard Banners  provide file to actual size with NO BLEEDS, we will trim to the edge of the print.

(All Wraps will require bleeds, please inquire on all wrap projects)

SMALLER DECALS, STICKERS, MAGNETS, CLINGS  Items that will be viewed at close range, supply a vector file EPS or AI for sharpest reproduction. You may also provide a 300-600 dpi  JPEG, TIF, PSD, PNG.

CUSTOM CUTTING SHAPES  We can virtually cut any shape. We require a “vector file”, Adobe Illustrator EPS or AI with designated cutting paths. Use a thin 100% magenta outline for your designated cutting path. (This is for our reference only, it will not print).

IMPORTANT CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS: Decals with a white outline or margin require a minimum 3/16″ white margin, “inside” the cutting path.

BLEEDS: If the decals BLEED, ink running beyond the cut, add 1/8″ ink color bleed “beyond” cutting path.

* Due to slight shifting in the cutting process, keep all text and important graphics 3/16″ away from any cutting.

CONTOUR CUTTING RASTER FILES:We can setup a cutting path and contour cut most Raster images with rectangles, squares, circles, and ovals.  For custom cutting raster files, additional charges apply for this setup. Send us your file to request a custom quote.

PRODUCTION NOTES: If using Illustrator, Vector files only, iit is always helpful to type special notes for the staff in the file, such as the final decal size, cutting requirements, certain Pantone® spot colors required, numbering information, barcoding, etc.  You can also put several different images to be ordered in one file.

Upload your “print ready” or “cut ready” artwork using the UPLOAD FILES tab, or icon on top right corner of Home Page. Be sure artwork is sent “high resolution”. We cannot improve quality of your files.  “Subject”, reference a job name. “Message” type info about the file (qty, size, quote date, etc.) include phone number in case we need to get in touch with you.
